An 80-Year-Old Groom’s Wedding Night Story Had Everyone at Breakfast Laughing

Arthur smiled, took a sip of his coffee, and leaned closer.

“Of course I was worried about my heart.”

His friend nodded.

“Exactly! That’s what I’m saying.”

Arthur chuckled.

“So before the wedding, I asked my doctor what to do.”

“And what did he say?”

Arthur grinned.

“He said, ‘Arthur, if you feel any chest pain, stop immediately.'”

His friend raised an eyebrow.

“Sounds reasonable.”

Arthur nodded.

“Very reasonable.”

Then he leaned in even closer.

“The good news is… I never felt any chest pain.”

His friend’s eyes widened.

“Really?”

Arthur shrugged.

“Nope.”

“That’s incredible!”

Arthur laughed.

“The incredible part was surviving when she looked at me and said, ‘So, Grandpa, what do you want to do tonight?'”

The best man nearly choked on his coffee.

The people at the next table started listening.

“So what happened?” he asked.

Arthur smiled.

“Well, she helped me figure out the hotel television remote.”

“That’s it?”

“No, then she showed me how to connect my phone to the Wi-Fi.”

The best man stared.

“Arthur…”

“Then she explained what a QR code was.”

By now several guests were trying not to laugh.

The best man shook his head.

“You’re telling me you spent your wedding night learning technology?”

Arthur nodded proudly.

“Absolutely.”

“Why?”

Arthur took another sip of coffee.

“At my age, successfully connecting to the internet without asking for help is a far bigger achievement than anything else.”

The entire table burst out laughing.

The best man wiped tears from his eyes.

“Arthur, you’re unbelievable.”

Arthur smiled.

“No.”

He pointed at his smartphone.

“What’s unbelievable is that I finally know how to use this thing.”

And with that, the 80-year-old groom happily returned to the buffet, feeling like the most successful newlywed in the hotel. 😄
